Back in July I wrote about the Windows Phone 7 Design language, Metro. I in no means think of my self as a designer but someone who appreciates the design and tries to understand the design. Since I also implemented Windows Phone 7 projects for customers, I figured it was a good idea to understand the Metro design language to deliver applications that “fit” with the phone.
Now, like I said, I’m not a designer, but a real designer Brandon Foy, who recently graduated from school made some videos about Windows Phone because he appreciated the design and wanted to show his creativity after being inspired by the Metro Design Language.
Here is the first video Brandon made.
After the Windows Phone team at Microsoft got wind of this video they contacted Brandon to create a video for the keynote at MIX11. During the Keynote, Brandon was introduced by Joe Belfiore and his new video was played.
Now Brandon needs your help! If the video for MIX11 keynote gets 200,000 plays, Microsoft will air his commercial nation wide in the US. So let’s help a young talented designer who created something just because he wanted to show how Metro Design Language and Windows Phone inspired him! Even if he doesn’t get 200,000 hits, Microsoft should hire him in some capacity to continue produce creative videos or just show people how to extend Metro and take it to the next level.
Brandon has an awesome future ahead of him!
